Prehistoric Elephant - Platybelodon

Second in my weirdo elephantidae series after Deinotherium, Platybelodon!  Possibly the weirdest one.  I love their heads.  They're called "shovel tuskers" for a reason.

Something I learned: Google image search any prehistoric elephant and there's a decent chance you'll get a picture of one standing next to a girl in a bikini.  The more you know...

  2. If I saw any elephant, prehistoric or otherwise, that was painted this well, I'D stand next to it in a bikini.

  5. That website is pretty much the most awesome thing on the internet, or close to it! I always liked how crude some of the images are pieced together. So very awkward. I wonder, have you ever seen Matt Barrett's blog? It's full of neat critters! http://mattpostsarthere.blogspot.com/
